For the realization of the mythological painting Day and Night, Gabriela took inspiration from Hesiod's Theogony and developed a mural painting using tempera on a ceiling of 500 x 435 cm.
Gabriela developed the painting composition based on some photos of the time, trying to represent a moment in which Goiá focused on writing one of his songs in his living room, with pictures on the wall that portrayed important moments in his life, observing through the window the memories of the church where he was married and baptized and his favorite trees.
Seeking to merge the song lyrics to the myth narrative, Gabriela created a composition of the moment when the Icarus-like character – after flying too close to the sun and having the wax from the wings melted by the heat – falls from the sky.
